WILLIAMS BAY — Recently, both the village board and the committee of the whole met to discuss village issues and happenings.

Committee of the whole

  •  Belfry Music Theatre, which is in the town of Delavan, just outside of the Bay, asked the village board for permission to hook up to the Williams Bay water and sewer systems. Trustee George Vlach told representatives of Belfry that the village would consider the request.
  •  A discussion arose about the idea of lighting all of the village flags at night. Public Works Director Jerry Mehring said he would purchase a solar powered light for the flag outside of the village hall. If that light works out, more may be purchased for the rest of the village’s flags.

Village board

  •  Village President John Marra declared next week Williams Bay School Choice Week, stating that having options for education is extremely important.
  •  The board made an offer to Christopher Douglas, who is a candidate for police captain.
