The Badger girls basketball team hosted Elkhorn on Feb. 1, and the home team won a low-scoring affair 46-33.
In the first half, Badger only scored 22, but their defense held the Elks to 17, giving the Badgers a five-point halftime lead.
Badger scored two more points in the second half, 24, and held Elkhorn to one point fewer with 16.
By the end of the game, the Badgers had picked up a double-digit victory.
A pair of sophomores led the Badger offense, as Macie Todd scored 14 and Ashlyn Welch tallied 10.
With the win, the Badgers' record is 5-1 in the past six games, with the team rounding into top form as the playoffs begin to approach.
The Badgers kept rolling with another home matchup on Feb. 5, this time against Delavan-Darien. Badger won that game too 51-30.
Badger's key to the win was a strong first half, in which they only allowed seven points while scoring 35 of their own, leading to a 28-point halftime lead.
In the second half, Delavan outscored the Badgers 23-16, but it wasn't enough to bring the deficit within 20 points.
Sophomore Ava Schultz was the leading scorer in the game with 18 points, while senior Jada Moss hit double figures as well with 12.
