The Williams Bay boys basketball team came into its Feb. 1 matchup against Palmyra-Eagle with a 3-3 record in conference play, while the Panthers had a perfect 6-0 record.
On paper, it looked like a clear win for Palmyra, but the Bulldogs gave them their money's worth, and the Panthers only won 41-37.
In the first half, Palmyra-Eagle was able to build up a big lead, 25-12.
The Bulldogs flipped the script in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 25-16. While it was an impressive comeback attempt, it wasn't quite enough, allowing Palmyra to close out the four-point win.
Sophomore Ben Venteicher led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Sophomore Jaden Randall also reached double digits, scoring 11.
