It was announced in June 2019 that a developer had proposed building a $48-$54 million, 170-plus room hotel and convention center that would connect with Festival Hall on Racine's lakefront, as shown in this image. The hotel/convention center has been redesigned since this rendering was released due to revelations from a geotechnical analysis of the site.

On June 14, 2019, at Racine City Hall, Mayor Cory Mason, left, and David-Elias Rachie, right, announced the developer’s intention to build at least a six-story Sheraton Hotel with 174 rooms or more, and first-floor convention center, in what is now the Festival Hall parking lot. The project is now no longer directly tied to Sheraton.
